PRIVATE AREA

Hi Darin!
Thanks so much for sending this over…I really appreciate it!  In reviewing these options…I had a few basic questions:
  1. We had discussed that the Uneekor Eye XO2 overhead system needed a bit more room (recommended is 13 feet wide but my garage is 12 feet wide).  However, the Uneekor Eye XO2 comes in a 12 pre-fab package.  Can I get away with that system in a 12 foot space?  Will the 1 foot of width (13 ft vs. 12 ft) make that much of a difference for the Uneekor Eye XO2? This is the response our Uneekor rep gave us to your question…12ft is going to be very tight for dual dexterity. Typically, we recommend at minimum 13 feet for dual dexterity and if you do offset the unit to one side, you will lose that space for the other dexterity.

  2. I would prefer an overhead system.  Are there other overhead systems you recommend? I would recommend either the Uneekor EYEXO or EYEXO2. The Trackman iO Home and Commercial are also excellent launch monitors. If you are super data driven, then I would go with the Trackman. However, if budget is an issue, but you still want a bunch of data points that are closely matched with Trackman, then I would recommend the Uneekor. Additionally, the Uneekor EYEXO will save you thousands.
  3. Is the Uneekor Mini system portable (i.e. I have to flip it to the other side for left-handed golfers)? You would have to flip it from one side to the other.
  4. What is the purpose of the 24″ touchscreen?  My eyes aren’t getting any younger…is it possible to get a 36″ touchscreen? Yes, we can get a 36″ or even a 48″ with a touch screen overlay on a TV if you would like.
  5. I am concerned about hitting off a mat and want to make sure it has plenty of padding / give.  What kind of hitting mat do you use?  Will it be raised up a little that you will need to step onto it?  How does it handle hitting from the rough, sand traps and putting? The hitting mat we use is designed to help releave the pressure off of your wrists and elbows, very forgiving with plenty of padding. Yes, there is a slight raise (1′-3/4″) from your floor. The algorithms within the software will replicate the measurements from sand traps and putting (as though you are on the course). You just won’t have the feel of the actual sand.
  6. The Uneekor Website has a pre-packaged kit with basically all of the stuff you have listed…and it is only $7,200 (https://uneekor.com/golf-simulators/simkit/eye-mini/10ft).  What is the reason for the large price difference to the options you have provided? The difference in simulators is quality of materials, hand-built fabrication, and overall aesthetics. It’s kind of like comparing a Suzuki Samurai to a Mercedes Benz. If you are ok with a kit and want to save some money, then Uneekor is definitely a good option. Additionally, Uneekor is a prefabricated simulator structure whereas ours is custom built by hand into your space.

Garage dimensions for our new home in Southern Pines:
Height: 10 feet
Width: 12 feet
Length: 19 feet as we measured it (but the plans say 20 feet)

I have also attached a picture of the garage. Please let me know your thoughts on if this space would be good for a golf simulator and/or any potential configurations, equipment suggestions, etc.
